I’ve spent the last 20+ years moving between three very different careers: automotive, advertising, and hospitality. What connects them all? Making sense of complexity and helping people see the bigger picture.
At General Motors, I ran the Chevrolet Canada Advertising Program. In Halifax, I rebuilt ad agencies and grew their impact. Now, at Discover Halifax, I’ve set new records bringing global associations and corporate conferences to the city.
Along the way, I’ve learned that sustainability isn’t just a checkbox—it’s the future of our industry. And it’s not the only frontier. From life sciences to technology and aerospace, the same truth applies: clarity, connection, and perspective are what turn challenges into competitive advantage.

When I hosted The Discover Halifax Podcast, the goal wasn’t to market a destination. It was to surface the voices shaping global conversations from right here in Halifax.
I did the research, found the guests, and built the arc for every episode so the stories landed with weight and clarity. Then I turned off the script and let the truth come through. What you’ll hear isn’t hype, it’s insight.

When Pamela Wilton and Mark Peters invited me onto Meetings & Miles, we didn’t talk about leads or room nights. We talked about people. About why I’ve never been interested in “networking” for its own sake and how my career in automotive, advertising, and hospitality has been built instead on collecting humans, not business cards.
The conversation wound its way through:
Travel stories – from street food in India to holding a koala in Australia.
Authentic connection – why relationships matter more than transactions.
Well-being on the road – staying present while balancing work and travel.
Selling Halifax differently – not as a backdrop, but as a place with weight and consequence.

" When Ocean Innovation Meets Event Excellence: Halifax's Living Laboratory Strategy That's Changing Everything."
Season 1, Episode 1 - October 21, 2025
In the premiere episode of Connection’s Canada Insider Series, we take audiences behind the scenes of one of Canada's most transformative destination strategies: how Halifax turned its harbour into the world’s most accessible living laboratory for ocean innovation.
What began as a simple meeting between Discover Halifax and ocean researchers at COVE became a revelation: delegates could move from plenary to the pier in four minutes, witnessing breakthrough marine technology deployed in real conditions. That realization reshaped Halifax’s entire approach to conferences — from generic destination marketing to global leadership in sector-first storytelling.
